Lemon Myrtle – Backhousia citriodora
We are very happy to be able to support our local growers who make this uniquely Australian essential oil, and have organic certification which means the soils & environment on their farm is healthy & improving all the time.
Paul and Jenny have established their farm some 40 years ago and the main species they have is Backhousia Citriodora. They have lovingly nurtured the plants from seedlings to fully mature trees, and the essential oil has been distilled on the property since the beginning.
Method of extraction – Steam distilled from the leaves of B. citriodora
Characteristics – Intensely fresh, lemon-like fragrance
Common uses – The uses of this oil may be similar to other lemon-scented oils.
Always use diluted, as with all high citral oils – they are potential skin irritants.
