Aroma profile Rich, sweet, herbaceous, with an aromatic spicy, woody character. Earthy, grounding, unmistakably itself.
Steam distilled Perfumery Home fragrance Textile care Traditional use

A timeless base note with centuries of history in perfumery, ritual and craft, one of the most recognisable aromas in the natural oils world. Made from 100% pure Pogostemon cablin. For external use only.

Six ways patchouli has earned its place across perfumery, craft and ritual, from ancient trade routes to modern skincare benches.

Perfumery & fixative

A classic base note that anchors lighter, more volatile oils and helps a fragrance last longer on skin. Blends beautifully with rose, jasmine, sandalwood, vetiver and citrus.

Skin & haircare crafting

A favourite among natural skincare and haircare makers, valued for its rich, warm base note in facial oils, creams and hair blends.

Meditation & ritual

Used for centuries in prayer and meditation across Asia. Its earthy, grounding aroma suits quiet, reflective spaces.

Home fragrance & ambience

Popular in diffusers, candles and incense for a warm, long-lasting atmosphere. A little goes a long way with pure patchouli oil.

Textile & wardrobe care

Historically packed with silks and shawls across Indonesia and India, patchouli was traditionally used to scent fabric and help protect stored textiles.

Traditional & cultural heritage

Native to Indonesia, India, China and the Philippines, with centuries of traditional use, and a defining scent of 1960s-70s counterculture in the West.

Up there with the best of them.
    Beautiful aroma!

I bought this from a shop in Nimbin in December 2012. I have treasured it for years as it’s the best patchouli ever! I have spent big money on brands like doTerra but they don’t come close to this patchouli. I just found the old bottle and am so stoked to have found the website so I can buy more!

Questions of our Essential Oils

Can I ingest / eat the essential oils?

Regarding our essential oils, they are all top quality and we can provide a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) on request (they are tested every batch, so the CoAs change regularly).

However no essential oils are considered food-grade by law in Australia, though these are as good quality as you can get.

Technically in Australia you’re not supposed to use any essential oils internally, as they are classed a poison by the TGA.

What you do with a product once it’s in your hands is up to you.

What is the difference between essential & fragrance oils?

Essential oils are derived from natural plant material through distillation or cold pressing, and are highly concentrated with the natural aromatic compounds of the plant.

They are known for their therapeutic properties and are commonly used in aromatherapy and other wellness applications.

Fragrance oils, on the other hand, are synthetic scents that mimic natural materials, and are used primarily for their scent in products like perfumes, candles, and other scented items.

While essential oils offer physical and emotional benefits, fragrance oils are solely for scent.

If you’re looking for natural, therapeutic benefits, choose essential oils.

If you simply want a pleasant aroma that is cheaper, fragrance oils are a good option, though we are discontinuing these…

Can I travel with / take the hemp products overseas?

That’s hard for us to say if it’s ok to use overseas, as we are not lawyers, though some people do travel with their hemp products, and we do send them overseas to NZ, USA, UK too.

It would be up to you if you did take it with you, and check if the country (or any you transit through) has any issues with hemp products.
